The offices of a doctor in London - the man himself cleans his glasses surrounded by a multitude of esoteric objects; a skull, skeletons, assorted bones, machinary, alembics, apothecary jars etc. His interviewee is a young well dressed courtly man who leans towards the doctor holding out a pill box and brandishing his cane - a woman child to his right weeps unconsolably and dabs at her mouth with a handkerchief- another older woman to his left seems to be threatening him with a clasp knife. All four display the signs of syphilis. (Jim Hahn 02/21/95)
