Bequest of Thomas G. Fowler

A finely made pair of wooden snow goggles, carved in a spectacle shape, with two narrow eye slits and a visor-like projection in front and above the eye slits. There is evidence of an overall red ochre stain on the exterior side of the goggles and black pigment on the under side of the visor to eliminate glare. The interior side shows surface pattination from much use. There are remnants of a cord once used for securing the goggles to the wearer.
