Two men are at work in a fish market, one chopping a large fish into st eaks and the other emptying a wooden basket of squirmy fish and eels into a shallow wooden container supported by a wooden-beam tripod. On the table between them are a melange of fish and shellfish, most still alive. On the ground and in other containers are turtles, oysters, crayfish, even what appears to be a seal. Cats and dogs, as well as ferret-like creatures, are helping themselves to these creatures, apparently with no complaint from the two men. In the background are water, boats at moor, some towers, and a dock filled with activity. (Virginia K. Anderson 02/06/95)
