A lacy bat-winged spirit or genie hovers mid-air, firmly clasping and embracing a sleeping figure. The pale sleeper, dressed in diaphanous cloth that trails in the night wind, hangs limply, bare feet pointing earthward. Flower-like stars and a full white moon decorate the dark sky beyond the floating couple. In the distance and below, the outline of trees on a hill above an expanse of water are visible. The huge wings of the genie are delicately veined on their inner surface. The edges of the wing exterior are boldly imprinted with a flame pattern. (Monica Jensen 04/15/93)
