Born in Manchester in 1878; Painter of landscapes, etcher and engraver Percy Lancaster was Manchester born, studied at the Manchester School of Art and at Southport School of Art and later returned to live in Southport. A major Edwardian artist who exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute, Royal Watercolour Society etc, he was an important watercolourist of supreme quality, and is also known for his etchings. He recorded daily life from Suffolk and Lincolnshire to the Lake District and Wales, Brittany to Ireland.
