Remarks: The book is titled in the running head “Emblemata Horatiana” (“Emblems from Horace”); the initial verse for each image is from Horace, with supplemental text from other classical authors following.
The commentary on the text is probably by the theologian and encyclopedist Jean Le Clerc who lived in Amsterdam.
Conservation notes: backstrip chipped, preliminary leaves loose and bound out of order
