Painter, lithographer. In 1912, he sailed for Austalia and intended to stay only for a short while, but didn't immigrate to the US until 1919. First few years were spent in NYC working as a designer for a pattern manufacturer. By 1925, he moved to Southern CA where he studied art with Santon MacDonald Wright. He moved to San Francisco in the late 1920's. Around 1930, he himself destroyed all of his earlier paintings. All extant work was created during the 1930's. His oils are mostly still lifes, landscapes, and scenes from San Francisco.
