A three-man iqiyax bidarka model rendered in wood and hide. All original paint and trade beads (eyes of paddlers). The bidarka is rendered in classic Aleut design. The paddles still bear traces of the original pigment and the figures are dressed in the original hide parkas. Note: This bidarka model is similar to one collected in 1814 by U. H. Dall and is now in the Smithsonian Institution collection, number 16275.Provenance: Property of Charles and Blanche Derby private collection, New York. 1999 by descent from above. Exhibited Heritage Plantation, Sandwich, MA.
