The top composition shows three men on rocks surrounded by the sea, possibly they have been shipwrecked. A huge frightening tortise is climbing onto the rocks and coming towards the men. Below, is a fantastic depiction of hell.

Sailors clamber to safety as their ship sinks in a calm sea. A tortoise crawls onto the rock. Below them in hell sinners writhe in misery in flames or plead for help as a devil watches.
