The bottom part of the teapot (stem with putti on base) is made of porcelain; the base (attached to bottom) is made of a reversed porcelain plate; the upper part (teapot with lid) is made of earthenware, with glass gems embedded in a pink ceramic-like coarse layer, with putttis, and a flower with glass gems on the inside of the teapot. The lid also contains glass sherds and glass gems, and on the underside there is a modeled flower with glass gems.
The teapot is signed on inside of lid at edge: "Mattson c98"
