Born Josephine McFadden, 1936 or 1938. Studied at the Sorbonne, Traphagen School of Design , and Columbia University, where she studied anthropology. 1962 became PR director for Christian Dior New York. Married DeBeers excutive Philip Harari and moved to South Africa, where she became editor of Vogue South Africa .In 1968 married FrankMcEwen, head of Rhodes National Gallery, Rhodesia and founded a workshop for African artists. Returned to NY 1970, still with Vogue. Established her design house 1974. Received the Coty Award 1976.
