Born in 1938 in Tokyo Enokido was among the most successful female artists in the creative print movement. She began her career as a painter, exhibiting works in oil in the Action Art Exhibitions of 1960 and 1962, and went on to show prints at the Akiyama and Yoseido galleries. Her print Efflorescence served as the cover image for the catalogue Contemporary Japanese Prints 1967, which documented an important exchange exhibition held in New York and organized by the Society of American Graphic Artists in Tokyo. In 1970 Enikido received an award from the College Women's Association to study printmaking at the Pratt Graphic Center in New York. Volk, Alicia. MADE IN JAPAN The Postwar Creative Print Movement.
