Gift of William W. Whitney

At the edge of this bookplate design, stands a tall slender woman in a sinuous flapper dress flared at the bottom. She holds a cigarette in one hand; the other hand rests on her hip. Her figure acts as a border between the white void behind her and the black background to her right upon which the bookplate name appears. The dress and one leg are handpainted a lime green, the high heels and head wrap a bright pink, and the figure's bare arms, shoulders, neck and face are painted a peach color.
