Painted biblical scene with Jephtha and his daughter about to be sacrificed. On the reverse has a floral motif and border. Carved ivory sticks with gold leaf and painted cartouches of a couple with putto and a fountain wth fish and birds. Carved ivory guards with gold and silver leaf applied. Restored 18th c. sticks and guards with 19th c. leaf. Possibly pictures of Ephigenia.-- Fabienne Falluel/MJL 11/04
