Foundation purchase, Phyllis C. Wattis Fund for Major Accessions
One of a series of 19 prints inspired by a short novel by D.H. Lawrence titled The Man Who Died. The prints are not a description of the book's narrative, but capture fleeting moments by giving shape to feelings and inner experiences that trace moments of existence inspired by the novel. Here, a brownish kidney shaped form connects by a black line to a brush-like object while another brush-like object floats above. All are on lined paper.
