Foundation purchase, Phyllis C. Wattis Fund for Major Accessions
One of a series of 19 prints inspired by a short novel by D.H. Lawrence titled The Man Who Died. The prints are not a description of the book's narrative, but capture fleeting moments by giving shape to feelings and inner experiences that trace moments of existence inspired by the novel. Here, a large brown cell-like form is covered with cilia. Inside is an irregular geometric shape and within that are a series of squiggly yellow lines balanced at the opposite end by a blue circle composed of series of smaller circles.
