Exhibition History:

Bedecked with Lace(CPLH), 1982

Jean Neder: The geometric circle with 8-point star is worked throughout in buttonhole stitch and Punto Avorio. This stitch gives the appearance of carved ivory, hence it is called the Ivory Stitch. Borders on each edge are made on plain weave linen, with hemstitching to form the design, and are sewn to the needleworked lace. Ref: Pollen and Jourdain, Plates 8, 9, p. 16
