A man with ass's ears is flanked by the female figures Ignorance (blindfolded) and Suspicion (who whispers in his ear). The man extends his hand to Calumny (assisted by Envy, Treachery and Deceit with a net) who holds a burning torch and drags along with her a child who protests his innocence with a gesture towards heaven. Truth and Time appear outside in a cloud, and Repentance faces them in mourning.
