Bequest of Thomas G. Fowler
Game or puzzle box with ten figures (five figures mounted to the lid of the box facing five figures protruding through holes in the front panel of the box) carved from wood with full torso and lacking arms although there is evidence that the figures protruding through the portals once had arms of string. These figures are fastened with string and connected to a stick through the rear panel of the box. This allows for the figures to be pulled through the holes in the front panel and into the interior of the box. The box appears to have been assembled using wooden pegs. There is an overall red ochre stain on the box and black detail work on the figures.
