Napoleon (center) glorified in heavenly scene. He is surrounded by major historical figures, generals and heroes (e.g., Alexander, Caesar, Frederick II) playing musical instruments (harp, horn) and paying allegiance to him. At left, a French officer reaches out to crown Napoleon with a laurel wreath. Behind Napoleon: concrete monument with Egyptian sphinx and round surface engraved “Temple of Glory”. Above monument: five-pointed star. Beside the monument (right), a man in Egyptian dress waits to escort Napoleon onto the monument. Foreground: eagle grasping crossed eagle-headed staffs with braids; bands of laurel, oak leaves. Epinal
