Florence Williams attended the ASL in NYC, PAFA, and the Hans Hofmann School of Art. She married H. F. Swift in the 1920s. During the 1930s she worked for the Federal Art Project (one of her commissions was one of two of [sic] the tile mosaics on the east facade of the old art gallery at UC Berkeley; the other one was executed by Helen Bruton). A resident of Berkeley until 1962, she died in nearby Orinda. (Hughes)
