Noah with a number of people around an altar on which burns a fire; hilly countryside beyond with the Ark on a hill top and animals grazing; a rainbow in the sky.
The event portrayed is described in Genesis 8.20.
The unusual combination of intaglio and woodcut is quoted in Benezit as an invention of Elisha Kirkall: woodcut prints the yellow tone, the uninked areas are white and appear raised, over this the etched plate, on which a rocker has been used on the ground, is printed in brown ink
