Jean Neder: The lower edge is deeply scalloped with a flower head design, (flipped and) repeated in a second row above the edge. Remaining background areas are covered with diagonal rows of petit pois or small dots, worked with cordonnet and filled with solid stitches. The reseau is a hexagonal mesh, slightly more coarse in top area, and finer in the design area. The lower edge is outlined with a fine cordonnet, worked with buttonhole stitch and picots, with horsehair running through the picots for extra support.
