edging or insertion
This piece matches 1982.19.3(same donor) although dated differently.
Jean Neder: The upper two-thirds of this edging is machine made net with tiny hand appliqued circles and buds. The ornamental design is mostly on the lower edge, consisting of rounded flowers and small 'pois'. The two areas are joined with a continuous design, all outlined with a buttonhole cordonnet. The samll devices and little sprays are called 'seme de larmes', the ground is seme de pois and little sprays.
