Bedecked with Lace(CPLH), 1982

Jean Neder: The design is a 7 cm. repeat of a single carnation on a stem, with a five petal flower and leaves. A single leaf is placed between each repeat. The lower edge is scalloped with leaves in a ribbon-like arrangement. All toile is cloth stitch, and fillings are square mesh plaiting. Reseau is true Valenciennes, diamond shaped with plaited sides of four threads. There is no footing, it is simple six twisted threads in the finished reseau.
