Jean Neder: Scrolls and leaf-like designs are repeated every 3-cm., with a reseau background and a more hexagonal design joining the finely worked toile. The cordonnet is not an important design feature, and is closely worked in buttonhole stitch. The reseau is made of looped stitches, twisted, typical of this lace. The fine linen thread gives the lace a light, sheer feeling. Good condition with ome rust spots. Ref: Earnshaw, Identification of Lace, p.51; Pollen, Plates 50-51
