Bequest of Thomas G. Fowler

A 19th century wood torso figure with deep-set inlaid glass bead or ivory eyes. This unique object is contoured to represent either a puppet figure or child's toy. The facial features are finely carved and display one labret with evidence of a second one now missing. A deeply cut groove around the perimeter of the face may have been used for securing a hood.
