Dept. binder notes: This brocade is composed of many pieces and is lined with a plain weave, dull red cellulosic, probably linen. The damask vine motif is in a satin weave on a ribbed silk ground...The gold and silver brocade motifs are composed of silk yarns in white and yellow wrapped in gilt. These motifs are persian flower forms, stylized organic shaped resembling leaves, flowers and vegetables. They are larger than the vines of the damask...reasonable good condition....paisley or boteh motif.(VB) A small scale bizarre pattern.
