Youngest son of the painter Paolo Veronese. Showed at a very early age an ability for imitating his father's works. Veronese desired to see his son develop his own style, and so sent Carletto to work in the shop of the Bassano family (Jacopo da Ponte, called Bassano, and his family). By eighteen he had acquired a more personal manner. However, his powers did not have time to fully develop, as he died at age twenty-six.
