Jean Neder: The influence of Lille and Mechlin pattern re both seen in this edging, but the workmanship and thread are English, i.e. the cordonnet defines the pattern toile flatly, is a little heavier and shinier in quality and the bobbin a jours repeat themselves without variety. The edge is practically straight and rather meager in design.
