Painter, etcher. Bray settled in San Francisco with his family in 1902. He studied art at the CSFA and taught at that school about 1917. He assisted Lucien Labaudt in the frescoes at the Beach Chalet (SF) where Labaudt painted a portrait of Bray into the mural. For 40 years he worked as a draughtsman at the Kaiser Shipyards while maintaining a residence at 1155 Divisadero Street. His last three years were spent in a convalescent hospital in Fairfield, CA. His work includes oils and etchings of the San Francisco Bay area, portraits, and landscapes.
