A courtyard or terrace of a pillared building with an archway leading to a bedroom. Several groups of people are sitting or standing around. In the foreground a man is sitting in an ornate chair being comforted by a woman. Another man, perhaps a physician, is bending over the first man's leg with an instrument, possibly repairing a wound. Two men at the left are standing looking at a glass jar, and others are talking. The bedroom contains a canopied bed with a man laying in it. Two people are attending to him. There are several jugs and other items on a table. Small figures of a man and an unidentifiable creature are hovering over the scene in a cloud. A pyramidal building is just visible in the background.
