January 3, 2002 note by Karin Breuer: "Ken Wayne of the Albright-Knox in Buffalo speculates that this drawing was perhaps once owned by Beatrice Hastings, one of Modigliani's lovers, and that the drawing may be a portrait. However, he has not been able to make the connection between Beatrice Hastings and Harry Hastings, Jr. (She never married). Note by Jack Vanderryn, March 2014 - apparently Beatrice Hastings, an Englishwoman, was married twice.
