Composition is divided into two: above Heaven, and below Earth. Earthly scene depicts a landscape with trees, stream flowing into the sea, two distant ships, building with stone tower and wooden house-like part built in the middle of the river; far away, a town on the hillside. The scene in heaven is bounded by an arched open double door, and floor of clouds and flames. Eight faces look out from the clouds. God enthroned is in the center of a halo. Seven torches arch over his head. He has a book with seven seals open on his lap, which a lamb with seven eyes and seven horns regards. Four evangelical beasts flank Him, each with six wings, and full of eyes (see Rev. 4.6-8). An angel flies before him. He is surrounded by 24 crowned Elders in a ring. St. John kneels in the foreground, speaking with one of the Elders.
