An Italian artist active in Paris from 1892 until his death in 1934, Manuel Orazi is best known for his posters and illustrations of Paris and its inhabitants. He provided illustrations for a number of Parisian magazines and journals and for literary works. Orazi designed posters advertising movies, commercial products and theatrical performances, including a well-known poster from 1900 of the dancer Loïe Fuller (1862-1928, Malhotra 675). Most of his work is in the art nouveau style with a strong use of color. Orazi also worked for La Maison Moderne, a Parisian art and home décor store, designing jewelry and advertising posters.
