Gift of Sarah M. Spooner

Represents features of the four counties..which make up .."The Midlands". Buckinghamshire is represented by the tiny square dots which are a feature of so-called 'point ground'. This was difficult to make and a test of the lacemaker's skill. The tiny woven brides which show in the insertion edge appear to be a feature of Bedfordshire make. (Neder)
