Painted scene of the sacrifice of Iphigenia at Aulis. Artemis appears in the cloud with deer for sacrifice. On the reverse shows a landscape with a bridge over a river and old buildings. Mother-of-pearl sticks are painted, gilded, and backed with iridescent mther-of-pearl. Cartouches enclose two courting couples and shepherd boy with sheep in gold leaf. Source: Bennett, Anna G.
