original French on the print is as follows:
LOST, SIR...LOST ON ALL COUNTS...
Lost, sir...lost on all counts...and only this morning you told me that my cause was excellent.
Of course, I did...and I am still ready to defend it, if you want to appeal...but I warn you that in the Royal Court I do not defend for less than a hundred crowns!
