Gift of Archer M. Huntington

Three handsome young women pose, two of them standing with arms interlaced, and the third on a graceful chair. All have elaborate hairdos, two with strings of pearls twined in them. Their gowns are extremely elaborate, each one different. All have low necklines, with different edgings. Two have long sleeves; the third has her sleeves caught with pearls into bunches at various levels, with a gossamer scarf floating over them. Fabrics are rich and glossy, with expensive details here and there. Behind the young women a luxurious curtain is draped next to heavy marble columns. In the distance are trees and fields, no doubt denoting their estate. (Virginia K. Anderson 02/06/95)
