A leaf-shaped tapestry which contains a bud and two leaves. Leaf-motifs were among the popular ornaments in Coptic textiles. They were frequently used in garments, shawls and domestic furnishings. In garments, they occur as a hanging ends of clavi and in furnishings, they were sometimes used as separate ornaments arranged in various ways. -Dr. Laila Abdel-Malek, MFA Boston 9/04
