Jean Neder: The formal swag and vase design as well as the reseau, which is typical of Point de France are counter balanced by the fact that the hight cordonnet is typical of Venetian Point lace. This discrepancy may be explained by the fact that early Point de France was made by Venetian lacemakers imported to help establish the French lacemaking industry. Poor condition, the fine reseau is broken in many places.
