Bedecked with Lace, 1982(CPLH)

Jean Neder: Individual design pieces are scattered along the length of this lace, all made of high relief gros point. They are joined by single brides picotees in an irregular network reseau. The lower, straight edge is buttonholed with scallops, trimmed with picots. The top edging is bobbin made in a diamond pattern, into which the brides are worked. This indicates an original engrelure. A few 'Snow flake' designs mysteriously appear at several of the bride intersections. Good condition, one area of the heading is soiled. Ref: Pollen, Plate 43
