Jean Neder: Alternating carnation and flower pendants, with ribbon-like bands, a repeat every 9 cm. Toile of cloth stitch with characteristic tiny pinholes along edges. The same threads travel through all areas of the design. Round, plaited Valenciennes reseau, also fond de niege fillings. Lower edge slightly scalloped, following the design, and is finished with narrow picot edging, sewn into place. The footing has bobbin made edging sewn in place. Linen with a clothy appearance. Mended. Ref: Earnshaw, Identification of Lace, Pl. 61, pp. 81, 2,3
