Aristocrat sits in his handsome wood (mahogany?) and upholstered chair, ring on his left little finger, watch chain draped from vest pocket, folded sheet of paper in right hand. His hair is stylishly cut and curled over his ear, silk necktie closes his white shirt, elegant black jacket with smooth fur collar covers vest and trousers. Table next to him is covered with decorative cloth and holds equipment for signing letter with wax seal.Out the draped window one sees water, with a sailboat rounding a spit of land with lighthouse tower. Handsomely-dressed young man sits in heavy wood-and-upholstery chair next to a table holding tray with inkstands and wax-seal materials; in his hand is a folded sheet of paper. Through the uncurtained, unglazed window one sees a spit of land with a tower surrounded by water with one boat on it. (Virginia K. Anderson 04/15/94)
