Beautifully rendered comb with pictographs engraved over the entire surface of one side. The graphics depict village dwellings, dog sleds, umiaks, a whaling ship and a battle between villagers and sailors from the ship. One end of the comb, the end depicting the battle, is enhanced with the use of red pigment or blood as a coloring agent for the engravings.
