A fantastical scene replete with religious symbolism. The crucified Christ rises from his tomb before praying clergymen.

Three men tonsured like monks are celebrating mass in front of Christ who is rising from his sepulcher in front of the cross. Church dignitaries gather around. Angels sing his praise. Symbols of suffering appear: rope, nails, hammer, dice, calipers, Judas with a purse of coins around his neck, sword, ladder, whips. Incense burns.
